BERNESE MOUNTAIN DOG HEALTH
THE INFORMATION REPRODUCED IN THESE 'HEALTH' PAGES
SHOULD ONLY BE REGARDED AS A VERY BASIC GUIDE.
ANY OWNER CONCERNED ABOUT THE HEALTH OR POTENTIAL HEALTH STATUS OF THEIR DOG SHOULD CONSULT A VETERINARY SURGEON.
No dog of any breed or crossbreed is immune from potential health issues but some health issues may be seen more often in some breeds more than others.
Bernese Mountain Dogs, in common with many other breeds of pedigree dogs, can be affected by some inherited and/or acquired health issues and also inherited and developmental defects. Some conditions including those
affecting the skeleton and mobility may occur more frequently in the large, heavy, fast-growing breeds.
A wonderful resource listing many of the health issues that have been reported in Bernese Mountain Dogs can be found here; http://www.bestbeau.ca/BMD_Health_Info_Links.html
